Left to emptiness; pain, guilt and shame convicted me.
Darkness held me captive; sin strangled the life out of me.
To my death, Satan singing my dirge.
But, lo, from the dungeon of hell, mercy freed me.
He took me home, to heal my broken wounds.
My tattered soul He clothed anew.
There was much rejoicing for a sinner now come home;
Because Jesus, my dear Savior took this quest.
For whatever it cost, my LORD paid the price for my soul.
‘Tis His, no more an asset for the world.
Saved for His good work and that glorious reward;
And for the great day that awaits.
